Here is the stock exhaust. It is about to be placed
in a garage of one of my Honda specialists. From the picture, you can
see just how restrictive this tiny pipe and muffler really is. The
exhaust that is about to take its place, the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion,
is about 1/2 inch greater in diameter, with a few less bends.

This particular cat-back system directly replaces the
factory exhaust system. All I had to do was remove the old bolts and
put this baby on. It is important to know that 2 nuts on the factory
exhaust were welded, therefore you cannot remove them. The cat
(orange) should remain, hence the word 'cat-back.' As you can see the
huge downpipe (grey/blue) hangs a bit lower than the factory exhaust.

This is the Tanabe Super Racing Medallion muffler. The
muffler will cost you a few hundred easy. As for the full exhaust,
don't be surprised if you see it retailed at $550 or more!

The exhaust is near-perfect. It provides minimal
restriction throughout the piping. The muffler provides a very throaty
tone for your ears to tune in to. This neither sounds ricey nor
obnoxious like the Greddy Evo exhaust (which I believe do not help Hondas
one bit).

I am pleased to say my car no longer has asthma or any
other form of breathing problems. This exhaust and intake combination
definitely helps out the cars performance. The Vtec is much more
noticeable, and upset. From here on, Jason's civic will be known as
mad_Vtec.
